A well established Central London firm is looking for a solicitor to Head their Family Law department.

This role is essentially fully remote working (if preferred) but there are monthly Head of Department meetings at the office and whilst most client meetings are now carried out on Microsoft Teams, if a client insists on a face to face meeting, office attendance would be required. This is generally very infrequent but the firm have said, "sometimes several months can pass without a face to face client meeting and then there can be two in one week." The firm do have staff located all around the UK who manage this small amount of office attendance but it is something that needs to be considered if you are not located in the South East of England.

The department is relatively small but well regarded. The successful applicant will be managing an existing privately funded family law caseload as well as managing an associate solicitor and junior support staff. They will also be responsible for the business development side of things  as the firm would like to see continued growth, building on the work done by the current head of department who is moving to a directorship role within the firm.

The firm would like to speak to family law solicitors who have a minimum of 7 years' PQE, but they are not just looking for a senior solicitor - Head of Department experience is essential. The role might suit someone who is currently HoD in a small high street firm and would like to work for a Central London firm, or maybe someone currently in a HoD role who would like more remote working.

The role will be full-time, permanent and salary will be 85k to 110k depending on experience.
